Alan Hollinghurst

Alan Hollinghurst is an English novelist, poet, short story writer, and translator born in 1954. He is best known for novels including The Swimming-Pool Library and The Line of Beauty, which won the Booker Prize in 2004, and for helping bring gay-themed fiction into the literary mainstream.
