Alan Furst
Alan Furst is an American author of historical spy novels set primarily in Europe before and during World War II, renowned for his atmospheric evocations of the period from 1933 to 1944 and influences from writers like Eric Ambler and Graham Greene.[1][3] Born in New York City in 1941 to Jewish American parents, he earned degrees in English from Oberlin College and Pennsylvania State University, lived in Paris for many years, and achieved major success starting with Night Soldiers in 1988.[3][5] He now resides on Long Island.
