Alain-Fournier

Henri-Alban Fournier, known by the pseudonym Alain-Fournier, was a French author and soldier born on October 3, 1886, in La Chapelle-d'Angillon, France[1][2]. He is best known for his single completed novel, Le Grand Meaulnes (1913), a modern classic of French literature based partly on his childhood[1][2]. Fournier died at age 27 on September 22, 1914, while fighting near Les Éparges during World War I[1][2].
