Ahdaf Soueif

Ahdaf Soueif is an Egyptian novelist, journalist, and political and cultural commentator born in Cairo on 1950-03-23. She is best known for novels such as "In the Eye of the Sun" and "The Map of Love," which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1999. Soueif also writes on Egyptian and Palestinian politics and has been active in cultural and literary initiatives such as the Palestine Festival of Literature.
