Agnes Strickland

Agnes Strickland (1796–1874) was an English historical writer and poet, best known for her twelve-volume work Lives of the Queens of England (1840–1848), written with her sister Elizabeth. She is regarded as Victorian England's most prolific female writer of historical texts for a popular readership, and in 1871 received a £100 pension from the Civil List in recognition of her literary contributions.
