Admiral William H. McRaven

William H. McRaven is a retired United States Navy four-star admiral who commanded special operations forces at every level, including as the ninth commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) from 2011 to 2014, and oversaw key missions such as the capture of Saddam Hussein and the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.[1][3][5] He previously served as commander of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) from 2008 to 2011 and later as Chancellor of the University of Texas System from 2015 to 2018.[1][3] McRaven is the author of influential books on special operations and leadership, including 'Spec Ops: Case Studies in Special Operations Warfare' and New York Times bestsellers like 'Make Your Bed.'[5][7]
