Ada Palmer
Ada Palmer is an American historian, science fiction author, and composer, best known for her Terra Ignota series, starting with the Hugo Award-finalist *Too Like the Lightning* (2016), and for winning the 2017 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. She is an Associate Professor of Early Modern European History at the University of Chicago, specializing in Renaissance Italy, censorship, heresy, and the history of ideas. Palmer holds a PhD from Harvard University (2009) and has published nonfiction on history and genre fiction.
