Abigail Firey
Abigail Firey is the William T. Bryan Endowed Professor of History and University Research Professor at the University of Kentucky, specializing in early medieval Europe, particularly legal history, the Carolingian empire, and early medieval religious and intellectual history.[1][2] She holds a Ph.D. and has developed key digital humanities projects, including the Carolingian Canon Law Project for searchable medieval manuscripts and Scriptorium for global access to handwritten documents.[3] Her research examines changes in law expression and implementation in western Europe from ca. 600 to 1300, supported by ACLS fellowships in 2010 and 2016.[4]
