A. Vandel

Albert Vandal (1853-1910) was a French historian known for his works on 18th and 19th-century European history. He authored books such as 'Louis XV et Elizabeth de Russie' (1882), 'Napoléon et Alexandre Ier' (1894-97), and 'L'avènement de Bonaparte' (1902), earning the Vaubert prize for the latter. Elected to the Académie française in 1897, he succeeded Albert Sorel as professor at the school of political science.
