A J Ayer

Sir Alfred Jules Ayer (1910–1989) was a British philosopher and educator best known as a leading representative of logical positivism. His 1936 book, *Language, Truth and Logic*, became a foundational English-language work for the movement and helped shape debates in analytic philosophy.
