A. B. (Andrew Barton) Paterson
Andrew Barton 'Banjo' Paterson was a celebrated Australian poet, journalist, and author renowned for his bush ballads that romanticized rural life and characters, including the iconic 'Waltzing Matilda' and 'The Man from Snowy River'. Born in New South Wales in 1864, he initially pursued law before becoming a national literary figure whose works helped shape Australia's cultural identity during the federation era. He died in Sydney in 1941 at the age of 76.
