Written over a period of twenty years, these occasional poems, the bastard stepchildren off-sonnets of Ted Berrigan and John Berryman, reflect on events like love affairs, marriages, childbirth. The speaker reminisces sometimes, accuses at others, but overall keeps a wicked tongue back and without wounding, speaks truth about their lives to an audience varying poem to poem. It is DEAR SO AND SO, addresses to speaker and subjects it's prudent not to name.
