Toxic Tex-Mex: A Mystery Novel of Texas (Broom)

Bow-tied DC consultant Ryan Bach reluctantly takes a tiresome detour to check on a young woman living with a free-love cult in far West Texas. He arrives and checks three of the cult's Quonset huts and discovers sixty fetid and decomposing bodies lying in repose with eyes closed as if death had come peacefully. The putrid smell and rotting images nail Bach's consciousness with haunting PTSD hallucinations.The medical examiner records these deaths as mass suicides identical to the Jim Jones People's Temple Cult. Even the lethal Kool-aid cocktail in the victim's systems was the same toxic mix. Bach alone disagrees, insisting murder was the cause of deaths, a belief inviting ridicule from law enforcement, federal agencies, and nearly all others, especially when he obsesses over finding and bringing down the killer, alone if necessary.That's when his serious difficulties begin.
