On rare occasions, an unbreakable bond of affection, trust and loyalty can develop between man and animal which cannot be rationally explained. This book tells the quite incredible story of a chance encounter between an abandoned fox cub and a ten-year-old boy named Tom Parker, who lived in a suburb of Surrey in the south of England. White Tip had been orphaned at a very young age after his mother died, but the vulnerable cub was rescued from certain death by Tom who then hand-reared him in secret in a shed at the bottom of his garden. Although the two were later separated through a cruel twist of fate, nothing could keep them apart forever, and White Tip would never forget the love that was shown him by the boy. The book describes Tom's struggles at school and White Tip's fight for survival in the wild where the odds were very firmly stacked against him and where he had to rely on his ancestral instincts in order to survive. It's natural to assume that this book describes purely fictional events but this is simply not the case and I can assure you that the fox, White Tip, really does exist.
