Land Clearing & Dev in Tropics

Over 11,000,000 hectares of land are cleared in the tropics every year. Too often in the past, new land has been brought under cultivation without forethought - each development scheme or agricultural project operating in an information vacuum. Now, at last, the consequences of this clearing are being considered. The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is honored and pleased to have hosted the first International Symposium on Land Clearing and Development in the Tropics.
