Africa became more than a large swamp around the Sahara Desert to me when the Lord indelibly impressed me with the fact that Nigeria was to be my future home. Well do I remember how keenly I watched the shoreline from the deck of the Appam when we were getting our first real glimpses of Africa. The strange tales of the country and her people stamped impressions upon my soul that words cannot express nor time erase. Though the eye can see and the ear hear, the soul alone can feel as I felt then.
