These gentle walks in South Somerset also meander around the Dorset Borders and are intended to take the rambler on some golden journeys where you are not likely to meet many other walkers. They are mostly off the beaten track and the start and end point are always the same. The use of Global Positioning System co-ordinates intends to accurately deliver the car driver to the start point, and for those using other traditional methods of travel, a Grid Reference is provided. Each walk contains a sketch map of the area and a specific point of interest for the walker to visit. Some are historical graves and other quirky things, such as a church tower with windows made of cowhorns and a cave attributed to Sir Walter Raleigh. Most of the walks usually feature a pub on the route should the walker wish to partake of a meal or a snack. There are some hidden gems to muse over along the way along together with some magnificent examples of rare trees that are not often noticed.
