Josh's Journal: An Examination of My Brother's Suicide is a true, heartbreaking publication of author Martin Wu's brother's journal. Josh Wu, a young, Chinese-American teenager, took his own life on October 3rd, 2013 when he was just seventeen years old. The book covers four years of Josh's life, from the eighth grade until his senior year of high school, and Martin Wu uses constraint-based writing in order to discover and understand what really happened to his brother. Through Martin's somber, yet hopeful retrospective lens on Josh's short life, Josh's Journal is an exploration of the mind and life of a depressed teen and of the tragedies and shortcomings that plague all of our lives - not just when we are adolescents.
