The year is 1958. Detective Frank Suttel finds himself lying next to the body of his partner, Detective Johnny Milanoy, stabbed to death. He cannot remember how he came to be under the bridge with his murdered partner. There are no suspects other than himself. Frank must try to prove his innocence against all odds, taking on the corruption of the Boston Police Department as he gathers evidence to clear his name. All is not how it seems, however, as he runs into a woman named Jessie, distraught, drug-addicted, and convinced that she is married to him, as well as Roger, a man scorned by the Police Department by the death of his daughter and his lack of justice. Each step Frank takes to try and unravel the mystery of his partner's murder leads him further into the darkness of his own mind and brings painful memories to the surface. Through evidence, blurred dreams, the voice of his deceased partner within his own mind, and even prison, Frank Suttel must discover who is the true murderer of Johnny Milanoy.
