Bloodsongs: For Those Who Know of Being Woman

BLOODSONGS is a collection of poetry for those who know of being woman- the blood we share-and the blood we lose along the way. Some of the poems are from teenage diaries written over 20 years ago- while others were written as recently as this year. They also include some of the popular favorites such as "My Lucky Dress" and "Old Volcanoes." It is my hope that you will find yourself somewhere on these pages- and perhaps smile as you remember the first time you wore make-up. Or weep as you recall your first broken heart. Perhaps grin as you relive a torrid moment with a lover. Or rejoice as you relish a memory of motherhood- or even celebrate as you revisit a treasured friendship. But, most of all, I hope you find the blood to keep going. . .
