Our great nation is immersed in one of its biggest health epidemics ever - opioid addiction. At the time of this writing, 100 Americans are dying daily due to opiate overdoses. A couple of years ago, in our little village of Covington, Ohio, with a population of less than 2500, we lost three young men over the course of eighteen months. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , from 2000 to 2016, 600,000 people died of drug overdoses in America. This epidemic must be stopped, and it begins with education and continues with the addict and those impacted by the addiction to take effective action. This book is a chronicle of fifty personal experiences that took place during my opiate addiction journey. I believe sharing these experiences with the world is one way I can give those affected by addiction a little bit of hope and some very important insight on how to whip addiction one day at a time.
