The Challenge of Sorcery

Troy decides to stop his mother from marrying her dweeb boyfriend Harold by going on a quest to find his father. When Troy didn't know was that his father was a reputed evil sorcerer from a land of magic and castles. When a ring and cloak that belonged to his father transports him to his father's world, Troy must survive his father's enemies: a sorcerer who makes one's nightmares come to life and a witch that freezes people with a single touch. Troy's own guide in this world is a talking that is more than she seems and has her own agenda. Then, of course, there's father, now a stone statue.
