'Kissed by the rising sun ... ' is a collection of aphorisms and free verse poetry that captures various aspects of what it means to be human including love and pain, courage and fear, shame and self-acceptance; raw authentic living; the beautifully imperfect and the ephemeral nature of life; and of course, hope and miracles... The book talks about the things that we all share as humans, the very things that at times bring us the deepest of pain and somehow also make life worth living at the same time... It is not a roadmap to happiness but simply thoughts and musings of someone who shares, quite vulnerably, what's happening in her heart with the hope to heal her wounds and to make sense of the world and her own life... and perhaps to remind herself and others that we aren't alone in our suffering. This book is inspired by sunrises, solitude and long evening walks in nature. Ksusha Kaye is a Russian immigrant who moved to the US by herself at the age of 22. She is a hopeful romantic and a dreamer for she believes in the possibility of a better world. She also believes in the power of words and ideas so she pours her whole heart into her writing. This book is her debut publication, an important step in establishing her identity as an artist and developing her voice as a writer. With everything she does, she aspires to touch the soul and leave this world a little better than she found it... one word, one soothed human heart at a time.
