This book was originally a trainer led course designed to guide individuals of any age through the mysteries of spelling and those elusive letters and how to improve their own spelling and to improve and enhance their teaching of others. This could be at home, in an individual class or a whole school. On an individual basis over a period of 30 plus years I have taught this technique to children, teenagers, adults, teachers, dyslexia turps and more. We all have a method we know works and it will do, but as my German teacher of many years ago, frequently told me. There is an exception to every rule.I originally came to the NLP Spelling Technique in 1994 when I was introduced to it by Ian Berry and Cricket Kemp of NLP Northeast and inspired by the latter in particular to find out how she did what she did and how to spot what she could spot. I honed my skills, some years later becoming an accredited and certified NLP Trainer. Over later years we (my team and I) worked on enhancing teaching and learning in particular and put together and trademarked New Tricks with Words. The result of that became 'The Spelling Dragons' (a small book that is included in this book) and this course. I hope that this explains everything to you, if not please contact me via LinkedIn or Amazon. For some people spelling is easy, it's very ordinary. For some people it's a mystery or a challenge. Evidence shows nearly everyone who can spell English words consistently and accurately uses this spelling strategy. Being unable to spell affects many areas of people's lives and how they think about themselves, and unfortunately at times how other people think of them.In addition to preventing mis-spellings, 'New Tricks with Words' leads to more fluent writing, and faster, smoother and more accurate reading.
