Stongs predecessor was a coward and a tippler, and has been appointed town marshal of Mormon Forge where Stong is headquartered. Four Graves West finds Bondad County in a drought. There is plenty of water on Purs McCools Wagon Wheel and Asa Kirker of the Ladder Ranch wants Purs McCool to sell out, but McCool refuses. Steve Frazee began making major contributions to the Western pulp magazines with stories set in the American West as well as a number of North-Western tales published in Adventure.
