Soul Survivor begins in 2001 with a young Kansas farm girl, Skylar Robbins, recalling memories of being a young woman in India. Skye's child psychologist, Dr. Azzam, and past-life regressionist, Jutta Meyer, are convinced she is recalling a genuine former lifetime. Her parents, Zoe and Trey, decide to leave their crops behind and travel to Bombay to investigate further, in hopes of discovering what is causing Skye's nightmares. Once they arrive in India, Skye's memories are even more pronounced. Their search takes them from Bombay, India, to Rhodes, Greece, and back to Wamsutter, Wyoming, where they learn the entire poignant story that culminates in an exciting and unexpected ending.
