THE FLYING U WESTERNS features the four western novels of B.M. Bower's "Flying U" ranch: CHIP OF THE FLYING U, THE HAPPY FAMILY, THE FLYING U RANCH, and THE FLYING U'S LAST STAND. . In the first novel of the series, CHIP OF THE FLYING U, All of the boys at the Flying U grumbled -- among themselves -- when they heard that the Old Man's sister was coming to spend the summer. They didn't want a woman at the ranch, and certainly not one who had just received a medical degree! But if they'd had an inkling of what was really going to happen, they would have done more than grumble.... B.M. Bower (Bertha Muzzy Sinclair, 1871-1940) was an American western author. Born in Minnesota and raised in Montana Territory, Bower experienced the final years of the western frontier first-hand. Taking the pen name B.M. Bower, she began to publish westerns when she was thirty; eventually writing more than fifty during her career.
