This text has been written for the new user of the Windows 2000 operating system, but in a way that those with more experience can easily skip over or quickly review the material with which they are familiar. The introduction provides general information about computer hardware and software. Chapter 1, which covers the essentials of using Windows 2000, is the normal starting point for those who are slightly familiar with computers, but not with Windows or Windows 2000. Chapter 2 presents some fundamental material on working with applications and documents, while Chapter 3 covers some of the ways to customize Windows 2000. Managing files, folders, and disks is described in Chapter 4, while chapters 5, 6, and 7 deal with an assortment of related, but mostly independent topics.
