The Roberts Papers: A Tale of Research, Revision, AND Espionage

This textbook/novel is intended to dive down lower than the polished examples and abstract rules of the normal textbook, down into the complexity and confusion of real writing. While teaching something naturally involves pushing it towards its simplest and least problematic form, it is important to remember how messy writing really is. This book demonstrates in narrative form what the writing process feels and looks what the struggles, temptations, and questions of it truly are. Hearing the content of the writing process while vicariously and phenomenologically experiencing it, our students will be more likely to follow in the footsteps of the protagonist.
