This is the fifth and final story in the Inspector Meacham series due to his mandatory retirement, but another series will begin with Clive Bruce, Meacham's former DS, in the role of the Inspector. With that retirement rapidly approaching, the CEO of a large local company is kidnapped, but as Meacham investigates,he finds that the 'kidnapping' is not at all what it seems to be. The fact that the CEO is most unpopular with his family opens up a lot of options and suspects for Meacham.
