Kari Underwood, an investigative reporter, becomes involved in a curious double murder which puts her in a killer's crosshairs. Kari is thrilled to have Jason back at her side, but has no idea why she is a target; and as she and Jason renew their problematic relationship, they must solve the mystery before she is killed by her unknown assailant.
