Unfairly Banned from Our High School Library

After activists in our notorious Texas county had the book removed from high school library shelves, I like hordes of people 50 years younger than me just had to buy a copy. Craig and Lio navigate life amidst a sniper episode modeled after the infamous D.C. Sniper saga of ten years earlier. Yes, the F-bomb is dropped but only as an exclamation. The most risqué part is 1950's slang for what a Senator was just caught doing to her date in a crowded theater in the context of "...the place where I ____ ___" For me, the most offensive thing was Craig's use of "animals" when referring to lost pets. A good read which will resonate with any teen navigating a romantic relationship. Read more
