Most of these poems describe the love I have felt formy partners and myself. I am 23 years old, Latinalesbian who came out recently to my family in the year2000. I will never forget the look in my mothers facewhen I first told her that I loved women. I can'tcome close to explaining this emotion, but for thosewho try to change my mind, all I can say is I am who Iam. Don't try to change others to fit your thought ofthem because you can't and you might lose theminstead. If you are gay or questioning and don't knowif you should come out to your parents, all I can sayis that you can't change yourself, be true toyourself, and the rest will follow. If life is notfull filling you the way you would like then youshould choose to make the necessary steps to change. This life is to be enjoyed. I choose life. I hope you enjoy this collection of poetry that has brought me happiness and sorrow. This is a release of emotions that I want to share with you- my readers. Enjoy!
