Recent gunplay has reduced Ike Kelly's agency to a single operative: John Henry Cole. Now Kelly has received a letter from a former lover who operates an escort service in the new mining camp of Deadwood in Dakota Territory, saying three young women have been murdered. Cole knows it's a dangerous assignment-- Deadwood was recently the scene of Wild Bill Hickok's murder, and Calamity Jane and Doc Holliday will be among the suspects.
