Big-city businesswoman Priss Porter returns to Prosper with a body in her trunk, and calls Stella Hardesty to dispose of it. Priss even brought a snapshot of Stella doing what she does best -- curing woman-beaters by use of force -- in case she needs convincing. Stella refuses and goes home, only to hear later that Priss has gone missing. Then Sheriff "Goat" Jones discovers a scarf Stella left behind, and he warns her to stay local.
