Within the mystery genre, one of the most popular types of mystery is the Cozy. We at Thorndike Press are pleased to announce that beginning in February 2004, we?ll be publishing the Wheeler Cozy Mystery Plan. Cozy mysteries are light-hearted in tone, taking place in nice quiet communities with lots of loveable characters and amusing dialogue. They typically do not contain graphic sex, violence, and profanity. Cozies have amateur sleuths solving the crimes; they solve those crimes through intuition and their knowledge of human behavior. Gossip details from neighbors replace forensic evidence as the protagonist solves the crime. Typically, cozies are shorter books that are quick reads. Cozy mysteries can occur anywhere in the world. The protagonists are park rangers, librarians, herb shop owners, bed and breakfast owners, bird watchers, golfers, fishermen, housekeepers, dog trainers, ghosts, gardeners, and more.
