European Regions is a comparative and historical reference handbook with accompanying CD-ROM, giving comprehensive coverage of territorial regions throughout the whole of Europe in the period 1870-2000. The work provides a systematic presentation of state formation and boundary-building, their territorial structure and political-administrative status of regions for each of the 23 countries covered. In addition, the CD-ROM contains a complete set of digital regional maps in GIS format for the single countries and Europe as a whole for various points in time (usually 10 year intervals) .
