In Who Do You Think You Are?, Driscoll explores the question, "What does it mean to be 'in Christ'?" In the process he dissects the false-identity epidemic and, more important, provides the only solution -- Jesus.

"This book will give you an unshakeable, biblical understanding of who you are in Christ. Fundamental truths from scripture that have drastic influence on your life

Mark Driscoll's new book, "Who Do You Think You Are" is his most pastoral work yet. He works through the book of Ephesians looking to see what scripture says about our identity. Now keep in mind, this is not a book that uses systematic theology on identity, but exegetical teaching through an entire book of the bible and a primary topic or emphasis. Because of this, it will not cover certain topics that others may on the book of Ephesians, and it will not necessarily look at other passages on identity as a more systematic work. The topic of identity is a fundamental part of the life of a Christian (or one who is "in Christ") and humanity. Pastor Nick Borgardus of Mars Hill Church | Orange County gave a really good and practical example of how a foundational issue influences everything that comes after it. Here is a quote from it. "Fundamentals Can Make or Break You If any of you watched the Alabama v. Notre Dame game last night we had a great example of this. Notre Dame couldn't execute the basics of football: blocking, tackling, running. Alabama on the other hand executed in a way that is reflective of a team that is drilled in the fundamentals constantly. John Wooden, a famous basketball coach from UCLA, used to start his teams' first practice not with shooting, defensive schemes, or even passing. He started with teaching them how to put their socks on. He explained that because basketball was a game of sudden starts and stops, if there was a wrinkle in their socks they'd get blisters. If they got blisters, they couldn't play well. If they couldn't play well, they couldn't win. The team didn't touch a ball until they could put their socks on correctly." When reading on the topic of identity, we can often become prideful and think "I've heard this before, this isn't anything new..." or to have a heart of humility to continue to hear truths from scripture, and to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to reveal new truths to you from the word of God. When we come a...
