After personal problems caused him to lose his law enforcement job, former police detective Jimmy Sweeny has left behind the stress of his past profession to handle security for the local baseball team. Life seems to have stabilized until someone wants the team's injured star to remain out of the line-up as the they fight to make the playoffs. Sweeny will be challenged to figure out who is making the threats in time for left fielder Chad Gilbert to come off the disabled list. Along the way he will have to face his own personal demons while handling pressure coming from team management, dealing with a kidnapping, tracking down an unexpected wrong doer, and rebuilding a relationship with his young daughter and estranged wife.
