Water is creation as well as destruction. In every culture, modern or ancient, water - whether oceans and seas, rivers and lakes, ice or rain - is a cornerstone of myth, lore, and legend. Gathered here are mermaids and selkies, Excalibur, undines, fountains, and an octopus or two, to name a few.
