The Animals

Even as a very young child, I loved animals. I would draw pictures of dogs and horses - long before I ever had a dog. My father was opposed to people having dogs in the suburbs, so made friends with the dogs on my paper route and made small Christmas stocking for them. Three of my dogs have been adopted through the Humane Society, where I have also volunteered.. Eventually, when I was an adult, I was able to have Mel, Bear, Katy and Rudy to bring love and joy into my life.. In many ways, our pets are like children. They are innocent and depend upon us. In fact, one dog trainer told me, "Most of the problems I see with dogs come from bad parenting."
