A Shadowed Past

Have you ever felt isolated and alone? Are you a people pleaser, responsible for other people and how they feel? Have you ever judged yourself harshly? Do you identify yourself as a victim? This is exactly what will happen if your dysfunctional past shapes your future. Do not allow your past to haunt your present. The emotional scars you carry into your adult life can inhibit your ability to move forward. When in this state of mind life seems so unfair, the hurt seems so real, the sadness clouds any potential for clarity and insight. A negative view of life seems the norm as you assume the role of the victim. It can be impossible to recognize any strength within you. Every time you recall your past, you give it life again.. All those unhealthy feelings will cause you to suffer from depression, and other destructive ill behaviors if you do not release them. They must be released in a healthy way, whether by writing poetry, or by seeing a therapist, the choice is yours, you must let them go! This book is a collection of poems that I wrote to express some painful points in my life. They are poems written from a victim who is now a survivor! I am sharing these moments in order to achieve personal growth and to help others to heal.
