The Hidden Prince is a lushly illustrated allegory based on a parable of Søren Kierkegaard. The young prince of a beautiful kingdom sets out to bring his father, the King's, love to his subjects, but because of his status, cannot reach them. He dons the clothes of a pauper and toils as a servant so that he can be close to the woman he loves. The Hidden Prince in turn earns the love of his people through his goodness and sincerity. Previously published as a children's picture book, Jeffrey Burkart's beloved story returns in this newly expanded version to bring the message of love to a young adult audience.
