British Book Trade Dissertations to 1980

Records the pre-publication literature of the British book, book production, and the bibliographic and textual investigation of academic works of British authors from the Middle Ages to modern times. The work is divided into sections on: bibliography and textual criticism; general and period bibliography; regional bibliography; book production and distribution; and forms, genres, and subjects. The entries include the author's name, the title of the work, the name and place of the degree-granting institution, the date of submission, the degree for which the dissertation was written, a citation of any abstract that has been published, the current location of the dissertation, and a brief summary of the work's contents.
