The essays collected in The Evangelical Tradition in America range over a vast plain of historical inquiry. Yet they are linked by a common purpose and vision of the exploration through ever-widening avenues of research into one of the most important movements in American culture, and the uncovering of forgotten, ill-conceived, or half-perceived features of the Evangelical tradition.
