A medical researcher is stunned to learn that the blood of a 15-year-old boy could contain a miraculous (and near-instantaneous) cure for cancer. But Dr. Allan Parker didn’t count on becoming the boy’s sole protector, or on risking his own life to keep the boy out of the clutches of a ruthless mobster, who will do whatever it takes to save his own, cancer-stricken life. This is a typically fast-paced thriller from genre veteran Neiderman, populated by realistic characters and propelled by a fresh and exciting plot. The two leads are particularly well drawn: Parker, the dedicated medical man caught up in something he is not sure he can handle, and young Taylor Peterson, the resourceful and smart teenager who’s forced to grow up a lot quicker than he had anticipated.
