Kindergarten-Grade 1–Each book is narrated by a child engaged in the extracurricular activity featured. All three titles have large print, simple vocabulary, and excellent full-page color photos. Art Classes describes the typical mediums and techniques that are usually taught in such programs. Bike Riding includes types of bicycles, some safety rules, and fun places to ride. Karate introduces the uniform and the types of exercises that novices learn. Better described as reading practice than as engaging stories or informational sources, these books are marginal purchases.–Lynda Ritterman, Atco Elementary School, Waterford, NJ Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc.
