Updating the well-received first edition (Bowker, 1981) , this new second edition provides honest and frank news of guides to travel both in the U.S. and abroad, published both here and abroad. All reviews are done from the reader's point of view; each suggests the possible audience for the guide, how well it is written, the presence or absence of information about phone and fax numbers, addresses, credit card usage, prices, handicapped accessibility, etc. This volume reviews unique and individual guides, as well as those that appear annually and in series. Some of the guides from the earlier edition have been reviewed again if they are still in print.
