London, 1984. Democracy has given up the ghost. England's ruler is randomly selected, and this year it's Auberon Quin, a clerk with an odd sense of humour. Quinn mandates that each borough of London become an independent neo-medievalist state, complete with costume and armoury. The city bears his practical joke with varying levels of patience - except Adam Wayne, an earnest young man from Notting Hill, who takes his sword in hand and the joke deathly seriously.

Jennifer Daniels was given a love for words, language, and books by her father when she was very young. She has over a decade of experience editing her own writing. Professionally, she has had a hand in editing multiple published works including novels for B. Shepherd Publications and two novels and a full-length anthology for Wordfire Press. Daniels is finishing her Master's in Publishing degree through Colorado Western University and will graduate July, 2023.

Born and raised in London, Gilbert Keith Chesterton is well known for his satire and dry wit. In addition to his works of fiction, Chesterton wrote on theology, social criticism, and literature. He is widely considered the father of the modern detective story for his Father Brown series. Throughout his life, Chesterton wrote nearly a hundred books as well as hundreds of poems and short stories. He died in 1936 at the age of 62. His writings have served to shape more than one generation and will continue to do so for many years in the future. The Napoleon of Notting Hill is his first novel.
