Essays address biological terrorism, possible causes of terrorism, the Patriot Act, racial profiling, immigration, the United Nations' involvement in fighting it, and war as a response to terrorism. Although most of the entries are excerpted from scholarly journals, some have been taken from Congressional testimony. Familiar names such as John Ashcroft and L.
